With his insatiable mixing and scratching skills plus the versatile record collection he has its undeniable that he will be one of the top club and mixtape DJ of this decade. Just ask DJ Steel how he received his name and he will tell you thats how he operates. Born and Raised in New Jersey Steel was reared by his mother an avid Disc Jockey who showed him the ropes. "I use to sneak and watch my mother DJ house parties in the 80's" Her tenacity and skills influenced him to get on the 1 and 2's. "When I began to DJ I payed close attention to Funkmaster Flex and Kid Capri"
His first big gig was at 16 and since that time he has spun at the Tri-States hottest venues such as M2(Mansion/NY), Marquee(NY), Club One(NY), The Roxy(NY), The Supper Club(NY), Eugenes(NY), Club Show(NY), Club NV(NY), Stereo(NY), Spy(NY), PM(NY), Club Bed(NY), Duvet(NY), Exit(NY), Club Flight(NJ), Dramas(NJ), Deko Lounge(NJ), Brokers(NJ), Taste Lounge(NJ), Downtime(NJ), Joes Pub(NJ), Chetty Red(NY) as well as a number of venues all across the country. Steel also dj'd Diddy's in store signing/grand opening for his new shoe in New Jersey's Garden State Plaza Mall. In 2004 Steel launched Steel Entertainment Inc., which has thrown several successful events. With this he attracted the attention of 1st Lady EL, CEO of Murda Mami Entertainment/Editor At Large Of Don Diva Magazine, which is the largest collective of women in the urban entertainment business in history and one of the most prolific urban magazines in the country.
"Steel is extremely marketable, creative and driven. He will be producing several mixtapes, modeling in magazines and having featured stories in several publications this year." says 1st Lady EL. Shortly after establishing a strong relationship with El and the Murda Mamis he was noticed by DJ Envy, and the two established a union. Since then, Steel has been rockin events with DJ Envy all over the country with international dates booked, such as Japan and Australia. Steel has also been working with Dj Clue on the club scene in NYC. Steel has also been inked as the official Dj for the Crash Crew. A brand new group consisting of 5 members, one of which is Rsonist from the platinum selling production team "The Heatmakerz". Steel has also a member of the SoSo Def Family as a Def DJ! Thats right... Dj Steel is SO SO Def!!
